The City of El Centro is accustomed to the deafening roar of jet engines of the Navy’s Blue Angels practicing maneuvers. On March 5th there was a new sound in the city, the roaring of businesses leading the charge of a growing economy in Imperial County. Board of Equalization Member Diane Harkey hosted a standing room only Small Business Seminar with over 100 attendees providing tools and information to assist these business owners in their success.

The seminar was kicked off by El Centro Mayor Efrain Silva and was co-sponsored by Senator Ben Hueso and Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia. The free Small Business Seminar put on by Member Harkey’s staff is an excellent asset for a variety of businesses. Attendee businesses included pet groomers, hair salons, and restaurant owners.
