Diane Rallies with REALTORS® to Oppose SB 8, a Tax on Services
Diane spoke to the Greater San Diego Association REALTORS® at their legislative lunch in Sacramento.
Diane addressed the recent Board of Equalization vote to protect investors and real estate which has brought more certainty to doing 1031 like kind exchanges in California. A high number of 1031 exchanges have been invalidated in recent years as capital gains revenue to the state has decreased. The recent unanimous Board decision was a huge win for taxpayers.
Diane also addressed Senate Bill 8, a move to tax the service economy in California. Diane is proud to stand with the California Association of REALTORS® and advocate on behalf of all of her REALTORS® in district four.
Diane noted in her speech that tax reform should be an incentive, not a covert word for job killer. The best tax reform is job growth which would create more taxpayers, more revenue to the state, and a boost for California’s job seekers and creators.
Diane also attended the California Association of Realtors® legislative reception. REALTORS® from all over the state attended to share their insight with policy makers, including REALTORS® from Orange, Riverside, and Imperial Counties.
