Held each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month is a time to celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. This year marks 70 years since the first observance. The theme for this year is “My Disability is One Part of Who I Am.”
Workplaces welcoming of the talents of all people, including people with disabilities, are a critical part of our efforts to build an inclusive community and strong economy. The Board of Equalization is proud to have a diverse workforce dedicated to fulfilling its mission of tax compliance and education.
Disabled employees bring a unique perspective to their work, one that is often invaluable when assisting fellow disabled Californian’s. To help recognize this, and all contributions made by disabled workers, the Board of Equalization’s Disability Advisory Committee will be hosting its 8th Annual Disability Awareness Fair on October 7th.
The event is open to all employees and will feature speakers and vendors to help raise awareness and celebrate the dedication and professionalism that our disabled co-workers display on a daily basis.
