Dr. King fought tirelessly for his community to create a world where all people have the opportunity to succeed. His dream continues to influence our lives to this day. Over the past 50 years, we have made progress as a nation in advancing his vision.
We can still do more to achieve Dr. King’s dream for Californians. Dr. King once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'”

Today, we remember and celebrate his dream. There is much that each of us can do to help make a difference in the lives of others. I encourage all Californians to join me in putting his words into practice by doing whatever you can to serve others and better your communities.
Join Team Harkey in the district and others around the nation in commemorating and living Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy.
