The San Diego Regional Chamber Legislative & Small Business Advocacy Committee led by Megan Collins from San Diego State University hosted a Small Business Roundtable so legislative representatives can hear directly from local businesses and to give them an update on changes that are making it easier for them to do business in San Diego. Erik Caldwell, Mayor Kevin Faulconer’s Director of Economic Development for the City of San Diego, led the discussion of the Mayor’s regulatory changes to help grow small businesses. Jordan Marks, Board Member Harkey’s District Director, discussed Member Harkey’s wins for taxpayers at the State Tax Board as well as her highly effective constituent assistance program. Jordan highlighted her over 400 case wins for taxpayers in her first year in office. The Roundtable also featured Bill Earley, CEO of the Red Cross of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Earley talked about business resiliency and how small business can prepare for all disasters including the upcoming El Nino.
Thank you to the San Diego Regional Chamber’s efforts and the committee staffed by their policy manager Stefanie Benvuto for bringing together Small Businesses’ and legislative representatives to make California a more golden place to do business.
