Some people actually go to the police station to avoid problems with the law…sales & use tax law that is. Board of Equalization Vice Chair Diane Harkey, along with Senator Mike Morrell, Inland Empire Taxpayer Association Founder Chris Mann, and the Highland Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Basic Sales and Use Tax/Tax Return Preparation Workshop held at the new Highland Police Station on Baseline Street. Taxpayers eager to run their businesses on the right side of the law received free instruction on obtaining a seller’s permit, properly collecting sales tax, and the laws regarding use tax.
