“I plan to put up a plant and purchase a lot of equipment in the coming year so I’m excited to learn of this program” Access MRI CEO Lee Schiel
Area manufacturers were looking to gift themselves at a series of workshops held in District 4 just before Christmas. BOE Vice-Chair Diane Harkey along with the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (Go-Biz) sponsored free workshops in Rialto, Moreno Valley, and Indio where attendees learned how to take advantage of the Manufacturing and Research and Development Partial Tax Exemption as well as the California Competes Tax Credit. Attendee Tom Mendez of ABC School Equipment Inc. had attended a similar workshop last year and had already taken advantage of the program. “The manufacturing exemption is one of the easiest tax credit programs I’ve ever come across.” Access MRI CEO Lee Schiel said the manufacturing exemption seemed almost tailored for him. “I plan to put up a plant and purchase a lot of equipment in the coming year so I’m excited to learn of this program” commented an excited Schiel.
GO-Biz partners with elected officials, businesses and local chambers of commerce to bring free resources throughout the year to connect entrepreneurs to the Cal Competes tax credit. To find a free workshop in your area, click here.
